The annual Foshan Qiuse (Autumn Colors) Parade kicked off in Chancheng District, Foshan on October 17. The Foshan Qiuse Parade boasts a history of over 600 years and is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage of China.
Every year around this time, Foshan becomes the stage for a grand cultural carnival. Cantonese opera, martial arts, and lion dances bring Lingnan traditions to life, while floats and intangible heritage performances fill the streets.
But this year's Qiuse Parade is different — a group of foreign guests has joined the celebration. The China International Folk Art Festival is being held in Foshan this year, joining hands with the Qiuse Parade for the very first time. Art troupes from 13 countries — including Serbia and Sri Lanka — took part in the parade, creating a vivid dialogue between international art and Lingnan folk traditions.
"Share Arts, Connect Hearts." Through the Qiuse Parade, Foshan not only showcases the deep roots of Lingnan culture, but also demonstrates its openness and inclusiveness to the world.
