Hotel hosts cultural showcase featuring intangible cultural heritage for Canton Fair guests

On October 14th, one day before the 136th Canton Fair, a cultural showcase featuring intangible cultural heritage (ICH) was held at the White Swan Hotel, Guangzhou.

Luo Wenwen, an inheritor of a national-level ICH, the traditional Chinese rod puppet show, performed a puppet play. Yang Liquan, Vice President of the Guangdong Art Promotion Association, demonstrated traditional Guangdong woodblock printing.

On the first evening of each phase of the Canton Fair, Tan Guanglin, a senior Chinese pastry chef and master chef at the White Swan Hotel's dim sum kitchen, will give a live demonstration at the River Café, showcasing traditional Chinese dim sum such as Sachima (Chinese soft flour cake).

On the night of October 15th, in celebration the opening of the Canton Fair, hundreds of drones will illuminate the sky above the Bai'etan (White Swan Pool), showcasing iconic elements such as the Canton Tower, merchant ships, and Guxiangshui (literally meaning Hometown Water) Garden.

Additionally, the White Swan Hotel offers convenient transportation to the Canton Fair venue from its private dock. During the 45-minute boat journey, guests can enjoy a lavish Western-style buffet breakfast. In the evening, on the return trip, passengers will be treated to views of Guangzhou's architectural beauty at sunset while being accompanied by a wide selection of drinks and snacks on board.
