From September 15 to 17, Huadu District held the 2024 Guangzhou (Huadu) Mid-Autumn Cultural Event. Six Chinese and foreign families were invited to explore Lingnan culture during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.
Starting from Habitat Creek, the three-day event explored Meihua Aerospace Science Popularization Base, Langtou Village, Sunac Land, Istone Mineral Park, and the former residence of Hong Xiuquan.
"We know the famous places like Canton Place and Canton Tower. But those ancient places are more interesting than the places that are famous," said Elizaveta Albrekht from Irkutsk, Russia, who has lived in Guangzhou for two years with her family. "It's beautiful, interesting, and exciting. We never regret it." Upon receiving the invitation, her family was overjoyed, considering it a meaningful opportunity to explore Guangzhou further and learn about Chinese culture. Elizaveta's 8-year-old son, Vladislav Albrekht, was particularly thrilled by the experience. "I think it's very exciting. When I go to visit places like Langtou Village, I learn. Sometimes I feel a bit nervous, but still, the event is fun."
In the three days, Elizaveta and the other five families became good friends and enjoyed a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. They wish to explore more about Huadu District and Guangzhou together in the future.
