Recently, a delegation comprising ten media representatives from Uzbekistan visited the ground-breaking project, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and then concluded their trip in the GBA by visiting several locations in Shenzhen, including Shenzhen Media Group and the new energy vehicle company BYD.
Masharipov Makhmudjon, a radio host from Uzbekistan, said in an interview that the excursion on the bridge was far beyond his expectations for the project. "I've heard lots of things about the bridge before," he said. "But while I was sitting in a car and traveling on the bridge, it's just a feeling at another level." In addition to the scale of construction, he also felt fascinated by its management system that supports its role in ensuring greater connectivity among Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangdong Province.
After a thorough visit to the BYD headquarters in Shenzhen, Niyaznatov Abu-Ali, a senior journalist with Regnum, told GDToday that China is now the largest trading partner of new energy vehicles for Uzbekistan. "If you go right now to Uzbekistan, you can find out that virtually 50% of the cars on the road are Chinese," he said. He predicted that the popularity of Chinese-made vehicles among Uzbek consumers will only continue to rise. As a car enthusiast himself, he praised BYD cars for their quality and affordability and even considered replacing his Lexus and Jeep cars with some Chinese cars for their design and affordability.
Up next, the delegation will head to Beijing for a two-day visit.
