The 2024 Guangzhou Mid-Autumn Festival themed cultural event is in full swing, with hundreds of couples and families from around the world taking part. They visited the Yunxi Botanical Garden and the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, learning about the city's rich history and Cantonese traditions.
Sami Hannan from Pakistan and Riabyshkina Elena from Russia have lived and worked in Guangzhou for eight years. They said this was the first time they've truly experienced the Mid-Autumn Festival in a traditional way. Being in Guangzhou, surrounded by friends from across the globe, has made them feel warm, welcomed, and more connected to the city than ever before.
