Have you ever wondered how astronauts cook on a space station?
In 2021, the world's first aerospace microwave oven was sent to China's Tiangong space station. It was produced by Glanz Group, headquartered in Guangdong's Foshan.
It provided daily meals for the astronauts, including Mapo Tofu, fried noodles with shredded pork, Kung Pao chicken, and snacks like chocolate and mooncake.
In this episode of the Southcn Show, Zhang Chunqing, deputy editor-in-chief of Southcn.com, converses with Zou Nengji, vice chairman of Glanz Group, a manufacturer of electronic home appliances. Zou explained the features of the aerospace microwave compared with the household one, including the performance in terms of safety, interference prevention, energy saving, and weight.
Galanz's aerospace microwave oven model only needs 600w to cook and prepare a meal for three astronauts in 7 minutes.
Also, Zou introduced that Glanz is looking at how the technology of aerospace microwave can be applied to civilian products. They have established the "cosmic kitchen" series, including grills with microwaves, steamers with microwaves, and other products.
These products are being exhibited at the 133rd Canton Fair, which is now underway in Guangzhou. Glanz's booth displays more than 200 household appliances in more than 10 categories, spotlighting the "cosmic kitchen" series. It attracted customers from over 80 countries and regions on the first day of the Fair.
