Just hours after its release, it topped Steam's Most-Played Games list with over 1.4 million concurrent players. Within just two days, it peaked at over 2.2 million, surpassing both Palworld and Counter-Strike 2 to claim the second spot on Steam's charts.
Black Myth: Wukong is seen as a milestone in China's gaming history, and its developer, Game Science, is hailed as a hero by Chinese gamers. The game has shown that China is capable of producing impressive triple-A titles.
