Hu Ge, the renowned actor, shared insights about his trip to Shenzhen during his youth and highlighted how the experiences and memories of the people he encountered there influenced his portrayal in the popular TV series "Blossoms Shanghai", at the Sub-Forum on High-Quality Development of Cultural Trade, at the Forum on Building up China's Cultural Strength 2024, on May 24.

He said that people were optimistic about changing their destiny through hard work in the late 80's and early 90's, and that everyone wanted to be part of that era. He recounted his initial visit to Shenzhen, where he was struck by the sense of hope reflected in the eyes of the local residents. As he played Ah Bao in TV series “Blossoms Shanghai”, he drew upon his personal memories from earlier in his life to craft and enrich the character's portrayal.
