"I attended this year's Shanghai import expo and saw many US investors, particularly from agriculture. China still has room for further openness. Although the economy is growing a little bit slowly, but is still growing," said Zheng Yongnian, a renown Chinese scholar at the 2024 Understanding China. He stressed that US hawks underestimate the capability of China.
Starting from December 2 to 4, the 8th Understanding China Conference is being held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, themed "Carry Through the Reform to the End: Chinese Modernization and New Opportunities for World Development".
The three-day event gathers approximately 600 attendees from all over the world, ranging from former political leaders, scholars, entrepreneurs, to delegates of international organizations, to explore China's development path and its global impact.
