On May 28, a delegation comprising 10 media representatives from Uzbekistan arrived in Guangzhou, the first stop of the trip in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The delegation paid an on-site visit to iFLYTEK's South China headquarter and Guangzhou Broadcasting Network.
While visiting iFLYTEK's South China headquarter at Guangzhou International Media Harbor, the delegation was introduced to the latest artificial intelligence technologies that help bridge language barriers. Thrilled by the endless possibilities generated by AI, Niyaznatov Abu-Ali, a senior journalist with Regnum, told GDToday that Uzbekistan and China can build on their mutually beneficial ties in the field of AI. "Our president Mr Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has made a very strong effort in order to develop IT in our country," he said. "We have lots of joint ventures already in Uzbekistan. China helps us with energy projects, roads and other infrastructure." He sees bright prospects for the two sides to introduce AI to more real-life scenarios back home, such as communication, education and office work.
Mamaturdiev Dilshod, a news anchor at MY 5 TV Station, shared with GDToday that he felt happy to witness how cutting-edge technologies are applied in media stations in Guangzhou. "As we know, China is now home to more advanced technologies," he pointed out. "I'm happy to see these development in our own eyes, especially in the field that I work for."
Up next, the delegation will continue their visit in Guangzhou, and then travel to Zhuhai and Shenzhen for more discovery in the GBA.
