On January 20, 2023, two days before the Spring Festival, the Liu'ersan Road in Guangzhou is bustling with people. Many residents come here to buy dried seafood to prepare for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
Liao Suijing, a shop owner, said that her store is fully stocked with dried scallops, fish maw, abalone, and various herbs to welcome customers shopping for ingredients for New Year's Eve dinners, or as gifts with auspicious meanings for friends and relatives.
With the optimization of the city's COVID-19 control measures, more and more residents tend to shop in the stores, and Liao feels happy about that. "Now, many people in the neighborhood often come by just to have a chat and shop," said Liao, "they enjoy shopping here."
"I wish everyone good health, good luck, and all the best." This is the heartfelt New Year wish from Liao to herself and everyone.
