9,508 meters! China's first deep-sea well begins production

With a drilling depth of 9,508 meters and a horizontal displacement of 8,689 meters, China's first deep-sea well, the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Enping 21-4 Oilfield A1H well, has successfully began production in the Pearl River Mouth Basin offshore area recently, with a daily test production of over 700 tons of crude oil.

Large displacement wells represent cutting-edge technology, pushing the limits of drilling industry. With a horizontal displacement of 8,689 meters, this well not only sets a record for the deepest offshore drilling in China but also breaks the record for the longest horizontal length of offshore drilling in China.

The production of the Enping 21-4 Oilfield A1H well signifies China's successful breakthrough in overcoming the technical barriers of ten-thousand-meter large displacement wells, propelling the country's offshore ultra-deep drilling technology to the forefront of the world.
