Yingge spirit, frozen in Dawu clay figurines

Dawu clay figurines, named after their origin in Dawu Village, Chaozhou City, Guangdong, are one of the top three clay figurine styles in China. Inspired by the actual Yingge performances in the Chaoshan region, The Powerful Spirit of Yingge highlights the lifelike quality of Dawu clay figures.

Yingge, originating from the Chaoshan region of Guangdong, is a traditional folk dance that combines dance, martial arts, and opera. Yingge dance, capturing the heroic spirit of conquering evil and fearlessness, is believed to expel evil spirits and bring good fortune. You can always expect to see Yingge performances during important festivals and celebrations.
