The third Sunday of May marks National Disability Day in China. On this occasion, a group of reporters visited frontline enterprises in Foshan dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.
Foshan boasts an impressive industrial profile, with its total industrial output exceeding 3 trillion yuan. Among these, the rehabilitation equipment industry cluster stands out. Data shows that the annual output value of Foshan's rehabilitation products and aids, such as wheelchairs and hospital beds, exceeded 2 billion yuan, accounting for about 50% of the Chinese market.
In recent years, many rehabilitation equipment manufacturers in Foshan have accelerated their digital and intelligent transformation, using smart manufacturing to help people with disabilities pursue a better life. A group of reporters visited Kaiyang Medical Technology Group Co., Ltd., where they experienced innovative products such as a brain-controlled wheelchair that requires no hands to operate and an all-terrain wheelchair capable of navigating stairs smoothly.
Meanwhile, these companies are also upgrading their production processes through intelligent manufacturing, consolidating supply chain advantages and adopting standardized, smart production models. This enables them to deliver high-performance, cost-effective assistive devices for people with disabilities.
Many of these intelligent products have served the National Special Olympics and have also been sold all over the world, including Northern Europe and the Middle East.
