How does “digital platform” enhance deputies’ supervision on government?

The Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress is being held from Jan 23 to 25.

As the representatives of the people, one part of the deputies’ work is to review the report on the execution of budgets for 2023 and on the draft budgets for 2024.

To enhance the efficiency of the deputies and advocate a paperless Congress, a digital platform has been launched and it made deputies’ supervision on the government much more efficient.

“Economic situations, the supervision of key projects, the financial budget and the supervision of state-owned assets, these are all presented by the digital platform of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress,” said Sun Wenbo, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress.

Yu Yang, Deputy to the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, as well as the Founder and Chairman of Dongguan Seer Big Data Co., Ltd. indicated that the policies at all levels can be planned in a scientific way with the support of official statistics database.

“This system allows us to learn from other regions to improve our local development,” said Deng Zhongqing, Deputy to the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress and head of Huizhou Huizheng Qinghua Certified Public Accountants (General Partnership).
