On June 15th, the waves of the Xizhi River served as the thrilling stage for the 5th Annual Huidong Dragon Boat Race. Eight teams from towns like Pingshan and Dalang raced against the scenic backdrop of Huidong, creating an exciting spectacle along the shores.
The day commenced with a traditional ceremony, where officials awakened the dragon boats with ceremonial dots of vermilion paint. As the race kicked off with the resonant clang of a gong, each team paddled fiercely in the 500-meter dash, amidst a symphony of pounding drums and splashing water.
Off the water, a vibrant festival celebrated Huidong's cultural heritage, with the "Huidong Delights" exhibition showcasing a myriad of local treasures, enticing both tourists and locals alike.
