Bilateral relations between China and all African countries having diplomatic ties with Beijing be elevated to the level of strategic relations, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing on Thursday.
"No country has ever done that to any country," said Hlopheka William Baloyi, a South African journalist, referring to the 100% tariff waiver for "the most underdeveloped" African states that have established diplomatic relations with China.
