The 136th Canton Fair is in full swing, attracting global merchants to gather in Guangzhou. Para (alias), an Indian businessman, is one of them. However, on the evening of October 16th, he faced a life-threatening myocardial infarction (heart attack) event. In a race against time, the medical team at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University performed a stunning feat, successfully saving his life in just 22 minutes from admission to artery restoration, thanks to their exceptional skills.
Over the past few days, Para had been busy negotiating deals at the Canton Fair. On the evening of October 16, while dining with friends near the Hospital, he suddenly experienced chest tightness, chest pain, and difficulty breathing. His friends promptly called for an ambulance, and the Hospital, upon receiving notification of the pick-up, swiftly got its medical team ready to receive him.
At 8:36 PM, when Para arrived at the hospital, he was drenched in sweat and struggling to breathe. An ECG indicated acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction in the extensive anterior wall and high lateral wall, which put his life at serious risk. Unluckily, since Para had come alone to the Fair, his family was not by his side to sign the consent form for the surgery.
After obtaining his verbal consent, Zheng Jianyi, the deputy director of the Cardiovascular Dept.2, promptly reported the situation to hospital leadership and the Medical Administration Dept. They decided to proceed with an emergency coronary angiogram. During the procedure, they discovered an acute occlusion in the proximal segment of the left anterior descending artery, necessitating immediate intervention to restore the blood vessels.

The patient undergoes surgical treatment.
At 8:58 PM, a guide wire successfully passed through the blocked artery, followed by thrombus aspiration, balloon dilatation, and stent implantation. Subsequent angiography revealed that the blockage had been cleared, ensuring smooth blood flow, meaning that the vessels had been successfully restored, and the procedure had been successfully completed.
"From the moment the patient entered the hospital gate, to the restoration of his artery, it took us only 22 minutes. The team's cooperation was exemplary, successfully saving his life," said Zeng Zhihuan, the Hospital's vice president.

Zeng Zhihuan, the Hospital's vice president, inquires about the patient's recovery after surgery.
Currently, under the diligent care of medical staff, Para is recovering well. "You, the doctors in Guangzhou, have given me a second chance of life. Next time I attend the Canton Fair, I will bring my wife and children to express my gratitude for your lifesaving kindness. Thank you for your compassionate care," Para expressed gratefully.
