Themed "Multilateralism: More Exchanges, Greater Inclusiveness and Cooperation", the 2023 Imperial Springs International Forum (ISIF) is taking place in Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province from December 3 to 5.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) proposed by China.
"Much of our discussion at the very first Imperial Springs Forum was linked to this idea. I think all the participants agreed that a win-win kind of project can't go wrong," said Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Former President of Latvia, who also serves as Co-chair of Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
She told GDToday that the BRI is an attempt to show that China is willing to build a platform for large, middle-sized, and small countries to compete in a fair manner.
"We were very much hoping to serve as a transit hub to connect the two core continents of Europe and Asia," she added.
