Recently, Maofeng Mountain, located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, has been rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction after a comprehensive assessment by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province.
Maofeng Mountain, part of the Jiulian Mountain range, is located in the northeast of the city, at the junction of Taihe Town and Zhongluotan Town. It is recognized as a "National Ecological Civilization Education Base", "Provincial Forest Park", "Guangdong Nature Education Base", "Guangdong Science Education Base", "Ecological Public Welfare Forest Demonstration Site", "Guangzhou Film and Television Shooting Location", "Off-Campus Practice Education Base for Young Pioneers", "Outstanding Unit of Tourist Attractions in Guangzhou", and "Outstanding Unit for High Quality Tourism Development in Baiyun District 2023".
Maofeng Mountain boasts an excellent geographical location, situated about 20 kilometers from the city center. The planned area is about 30 square kilometers and is surrounded by more than 20 peaks with an altitude of over 200 meters. The main peak, Lianhua Peak, reaches an altitude of 534.9 meters, making it the highest peak in Guangzhou's urban area.
The main attractions of Maofeng Mountain include Maofeng Charm, Lianhua Peak View, Tianhu Lake, Millennium Post Road, Ancient Temple, Camellia Garden, Cherry Garden, Red Maple Garden, Zilu Liuqing, Spring Pond, Fragrant Camphor Island, Zhengxie Garden, Special Forest Trail, and Lianhua Peak. With a forest coverage as high as 95%, the air negative ion content is rich, reaching up to 17,000/cm³, making it a natural oxygen bar in Guangzhou's urban area.
