In Guangdong, many beautiful historic buildings grace our towns and cities. Most of them have become landmarks and add to the unique character and charm of the cities in which they are located.
Today, let's enjoy a red building complex in the city center of Guangzhou—the Peasant Movement Institute.
The Peasant Movement Institute, or Peasant Training School, was based in the Panyu Academy (Confucius Temple), which was built in 1370. From south to north, this magnificent building complex is composed of Lingxing Gate, Pan Pond, arch bridges, Dacheng Hall, Chongsheng Hall, and Minglun Hall.
In the 1920s, it was transformed into a training school. The site now houses a museum about Guangzhou's revolutionary past.
The unique architectural style of the Peasant Movement Institute has attracted numerous tourists. Newly married couples will pose for wedding photos in front of the red walls. Some children love to run on the lawn. Professional photographers will stay here to capture the beauty of ancient buildings and trees.
