Recently, Huangpu District in Guangzhou has been greeted with a new wave of rainy weather, signaling the arrival of summer with gradually warming breezes.

Beneath the elevated bridge at Changping Metro Station on Yongshun Avenue, one can gaze up and behold vast stretches of soothing greenery. Driving through feels like journeying through a verdant forest. Amid the gentle, romantic summer rain, the bustling traffic under the bridge and the lush ivy growing on the piers present an enchanting "Wizard of Oz" scene.

On the pedestrian overpass of Guangshan Highway, the greenery is becoming increasingly dense, earning the admiration of passersby. "From tiny seedlings under the pier to gradually climbing up the pier, I watched them grow," said Mr. Xie, who works nearby and travels back and forth under the bridge twice every weekday. "Especially when summer arrives and the weather gets hot, walking through here feels refreshingly cool, both physically and mentally."

Along roads such as Kaichuang Avenue, Shuixi Road, and Huixing Road, clusters of ivy and firecracker flowers have grown into verdant "green walls," providing shelter from wind and rain along with a corridor. Stepping out of the B exit at Suyuan Metro Station, one can immediately notice the green vines of firecracker flowers enveloping the corridor.

Key roads in Huangpu District like Kaifa Avenue, Huangpu East Road, Yongshun Avenue, and Kexue Avenue, essential for daily commuting, are adorned with various climbing vines. The charming and playful pink quisqualis indica, the lively orange firecracker flowers, and the steady and dignified green ivy all bloom in succession, creating a stunning urban landscape.

In recent years, Huangpu District has been implementing the strategy of building a beautiful and livable flower city. To date, three-dimensional greening landscapes have been created along 28 major roads in the district, including Kaichuang Avenue, Kaifa Avenue, Kaitai Avenue, Guangshan Highway, Yongshun Avenue, and Jiulong Avenue. With a profusion of flowers and green vines, a beautiful picture of harmony between man and nature is slowly unfolding.
