How international schools in Guangdong conduct online teaching during COVID-19?

Facing the new wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, this week primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou and Foshan switched to online teaching, so were international schools in the two cities.

Parents at three international schools have shared with GD Today some joyous moments of their children having class at home.

Established in 1981, American International School of Guangzhou(AISG) is the first international school in southern China. During the online schooling period, the school have created new online learning tech help channels for the faculty and new help desk ticketing systems for parents and students.

BASIS International School Guangzhou is the first in Guangdong Province to be accredited by AdvancED. It is worth mentioning that BASIS also set up special courses ”Kindness Tree”, to motivate students to practice good behaviors, and see goods in other people. The students can either help parents cook, or clean up rooms, or take care of their little brothers and sisters at home.

As first international school in Foshan, EtonHouse International School offers classes from pre-school to senior years (ages 2 to 18). It started preparing for online teaching well before the Tomb-sweeping break. A wide range of online palforms are used, such as, Tecent meeting, Zoom, Class-in, ManageBac, and WeChat.
