National First-Class Protected Birds Spotted in Lechang, Shaoguan

In the winter season, the reservoir of Shuikou Village in Changle Town, Lechang, Shaoguan, welcomes six "special and rare guests." On November 18, bird enthusiasts captured moments of the national first-class protected birds, known as the "giant pandas of the bird world" – the Oriental White Storks and Black Storks.

It's known that the Black Stork has black upper feathers with a metallic sheen of purple and green. They are widely distributed in China, with a population larger than that of White Storks. The Oriental White Stork has a long and sturdy beak, with vivid crimson-colored bare skin around the eyes, eyeline, and throat. The plumage on its body is predominantly pure white.
