The 133rd Canton Fair will kick off both online and offline the day after tomorrow (April 15), with the largest number of exhibitors and exhibition areas.

According to Xu, 53 leading multinational companies, including Walmart, Macy's, Lifetime Brands, Harbor Freight Tools, and Staples of the United States, Auchan and Carrefour of France, Metro AG and Lidl of Germany, NITORI of Japan, LULU of the United Arab Emirates, and Woolworths of Australia, have confirmed their participation.

The Fair also sets three new exhibition sections for Industrial Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing, New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles, and Maternity, Baby and Children Products, and three new exhibition zones for Smart Life, Detection and Protective Equipment, and Silver Economy.

According to Xu, this year's event highlights green concepts. A total of 500,000 green and low-carbon products will be exhibited at the Fair to promote the brand “Made in China” and expand its international market.

The export-oriented exhibition will showcase 16 product categories with 54 exhibition sections and nearly 70,000 exhibition booths.

The number of offline exhibitors grew from 25,000 to 34,933, among which over 9,000 are newly registered enterprises. And the number of online exhibitors reached 39,281.

Besides, a total of 508 overseas businesses from 40 countries and regions will attend the international pavilion, which will be held in all three phases for the first time. Among them, 73 percent of exhibitors are from countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

There are 12 specialized exhibition areas and six exhibition groups from Türkiye, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, India, and China's Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR.

The newly-built venue - Area D - will also be used for the first time, expanding the exhibition area from 1.18 million to a record-breaking 1.5 million square meters.
