“It is my first time to the Canton Fair. It is very amazing! It seems that you can buy whatever you want here,” said Alvarez Gerardo, a Mexican buyer, at the 133rd Canton Fair. Apart from successfully placing a lot of orders, including air conditioners and cables, they also got to know more suppliers at the event.
As a technical manager and a purchasing manager of a large air conditioner company in Mexico, Alvarez Gerardo and his colleague Cancino Patricia had been looking forward to the 133rd Canton Fair for a long time.
“Our company has been cooperating with many excellent Chinese enterprises and has introduced many made-in-China electrical products to Mexico. At this Canton Fair, we placed orders with our regular suppliers, and met more Chinese suppliers to help us expand our business,” Patricia said.
After arriving in China on April 5, they had visited many cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Zhuhai and Guangzhou. “We have seen great changes in China, especially the progress in the field of science and technology,” said Patricia, who had visited China eight years ago.
Before this trip, Patricia didn’t use WeChat. However, after staying in China for more than ten days, she has already used the application proficiently to make friends with new suppliers at the Canton Fair.
Alvarez Gerardo also made friends at the Canton Fair, looking for made-in-China products such as cables, air conditioning, refrigerators and capacitors. “China is very popular in Mexico, especially for the Chinese products,” he said.
The day before Canton Fair kicked off, the two had visited the headquarter of Gree Electric Appliances in Zhuhai to see its laboratories and production lines. “Core components such as air conditioning compressors are developed and produced by the company, which is very attractive to us.” Patricia said.
“We have known each other for five or six years, and this time they not only saw our products, but also visited the factories to have a deeper insight into the conditions of the products during the operational testing. we also reached intended cooperation on some new products in the next year,” Wang Weizhen said, the assistant to the general manager of Gree Electric Appliances Overseas Sales Company.
“The Canton Fair Complex is too big. Next time, I need to wear a pair of roller skates!” Patricia said.
