Overseas buyers eager to find new opportunities at 133rd Canton Fair

“We have been an exhibitor and a participant in the Canton fair for many years. We are here to reinforce the contact with the customer, strengthen our business relationships and find new opportunities, especially for the induction cooker,” said Riccardo Giaccardo, General Manager of Sabaf Appliance Components (Kunshan) Co., Ltd., on the first day (April 15) of the 133rd Canton Fair.

As of 6 pm on April 15, there are 370,000 visitors to the Canton Fair, among them 67,000 are foreigners. And the number of online participants reached 410,000, including 280,000 foreigners. Previously, Xu Bing, spokesperson for the fair, revealed that this year’s Canton Fair has attracted buyers from 226 countries and regions and delegations of 47 industrial and commercial organizations from Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania.

Enric Tria from Taurus Group, a multi-local small appliance manufacturer based in Spain, has been attending the Canton Fair for 20 years, while Taurus Group has been coming to the Fair for at least 25 years. The Group has also set up a sourcing booth on the spot this time.

“Our expectation obviously is to look for new products and see what the main partners and suppliers present to us in the show. We’re mainly looking for any kinds of products related to the small domestic appliances,” he said.

Other buyers are very excited about the full resumption of the offline exhibition. “It’s great to be back. It looks like the city is alive again. The fair and the pavilions are so bubbly with people. It’s great to see this,” said Carlos Belotto, Development Manager of Sunshine Bathe Limited.

This year, Carlos will focus on phase one and phase three of the fair, mainly looking into heavy machinery and parts of machinery. “Phase three will be looking into fashion, including accessories, garments and things like this,” he said.

Besides, Bekar Mikaberidze, founder of One Belt One Road Georgian Business House, who is living in Guangzhou and has his team and all of his family here, will attend all three phases of the 133rd Canton Fair.

“We continue to attend the online exhibition. But this time, we are very happy because finally the pandemic is finished and everybody can come. A lot of our partners from overseas have come to China,” he said.

His goal is to look for building materials and also new technology products. “I hope to find new technology products at the Canton Fair and sell in my country Georgia,” he added.

Rebecca Tam, a buyer from Hong Kong SAR also came to find suitable products for the market. “We will also focus on electronic products, tools, new energy vehicles and auto spare parts,” she said.

The 133rd Canton Fair kicked off both online and offline on April 15. The offline exhibition will be held in three phases by different products until May 5, and each phase will last for five days.
