New businesses will come for all people doing business with China

Guangdong, the leading foreign trade player and economic powerhouse in China, is opening up business opportunities for the province's foreign trade companies and foreign investors, sending a positive signal on stabilizing overseas orders and fueling economic growth.

Bekar Miikaberidze, an Official representative of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Guangdong and the founder of One Belt One Road Georgian Business House in Guangzhou, welcomed those measures with open arms.

"We opened our restaurant and the exhibition hall. Many people are coming to our place," cheered Bekar happily. He insisted that China will open the door next year, allowing companies and business people to chase global opportunities. New businesses will come from Georgian companies and all people doing business in the world with China.

"We can survive and pay salary for our workers and employers"

With fluent mandarin, Bekar acts more than a local. He now owns the One Belt One Road Business Hall and a Georgian restaurant in Wanling Square in Guangzhou. During the past six years, Bekar expanded his business in China via online and offline selling.

In his eyes, Guangzhou is a trade city with a comfortable business environment. The city enjoys good location advantages for the logistic, and trading with local people is very easy here.

This June, China and Georgia celebrated the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. As early as 2017, China and Georgia inked a free trade agreement to expand bilateral trade, which was China's first FTA in Eurasia. Since then, the trade cooperation between the two countries has grown dramatically.

Benefiting from it, last year, Bekar's Business Hall signed a memorandum of cooperation with CCPIT Guangdong, aiming to promote more economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

Bekar was enthusiastic about Guangzhou's recently optimized COVID-19 measures. After his restaurant and exhibition center reopened, many people soon visited and dined in the restaurant. "We can survive. I mean, like a restaurant, we can pay salaries for our workers and employers," Bekar said happily.

Expand Guangzhou business model to Africa and South America

Bekar's reaction was just like many of his Georgian peers in China. As the representative of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Guangdong, he revealed that many companions also felt happy about the new measures.

"They can develop their business and companies. So I'm sure from this regulation, new businesses will come for their companies for the country and for all of the people doing business in the world with China."

Bekar believed there would be massive potential for Georgia and Guangdong to deepen cooperation because the economies of these two places were highly complementary. Business opportunities will come up in cross-border e-commerce, overseas warehouses, bonded logistics, tourism, and so on.

Regarding his plan, Bekar showed his ambitions to expand his business globally. "We want to open our business house in China's major cities" and he hopes to open more business houses in other countries as well as expand this model to overseas markets in Africa and South America.
