133rd Canton Fair ends up with export deals worth a total of $21.69 billion

The 133rd Canton Fair concluded yesterday (April 5), with a better-than-expected export turnover and a record foot traffic, according to fair spokesperson Xu Bing.

The exhibitions saw signing of export deals worth a total of 21.69 billion USD, which was better than expected. As of May 4, the event attracted overseas buyers from over 220 countries and regions both online or offline. Among them, nearly 130,000 buyers attended the offline exhibitions from 213 countries and regions.

The fair serves as an increasingly multifunctional platform to provide services such as information exchanges, new product debuts, product promotions and trading services, allowing the buyers and exhibitors to harvest more at the event.

Covering a record-breaking 1.5 million square meters, the fair set up a total of 70,000 exhibition booths for global and domestic buyers.

The accumulated number of showpieces displayed both online and offline reached 3.07 million pieces, among which over 800,000 are new products, nearly 130,000 are intelligent devices, about 500,000 are low-carbon products and more than 260,000 are products with their own intellectual property rights. Moreover, a total of 508 enterprises from 40 countries and regions participated in the import exhibition.

A total of 141 functions of the online platform have been optimized. The platform online has received 30.61 million visits and 7.73 million visitors, among which overseas visits accounted for more than 80 percent.
