A delegation of the Macao SAR Government and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin visited Lisbon and Porto in Portugal for business exchanges and match-making from April 18 to 22.

During their stay in Portugal, the Macao SAR Government held several activities, such as the “Macao-Portugal Investment and Tourism Promotion Event”, in which some local entrepreneurs expressed that they had learned more about the preferential policies and development advantages of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and hoped to have the opportunity to visit this region for a field investigation.
Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin held a Macao-Hengqin Portuguese Entrepreneurs Exchange Meeting in Lisbon. At this meeting, the zone introduced that it would build platforms to provide cross-border e-commerce, commodity trading exhibition, international trade promotion, digital trade development and SME incubation services for Portuguese-speaking countries as well as countries along the Belt and Road.

The zone added that the 3rd Hengqin International Sci-tech Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition was underway, appealing more enterprises from Portuguese-speaking countries to participate in and seek more business opportunities.
The delegation visited the Lisbon-Grand Health Research Center, Luz Saude Hospital, Hovione Pharmaceutical Factory and Corticeira Amorim, a cork material company, in the hope of expanding overseas links and attracting more high-quality overseas projects.

Later, the delegation will visit Luxembourg and Belgium, and will meet the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, the Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium, EU officials and the Chinese embassies in Luxembourg and Belgium. Meanwhile, some members of the delegation will go to Spain for business studies.
