GDToday and SCMP launch special section to present GBA's five-year achievements

On March 18, GDToday, in partnership with the South China Morning Post, launched an eight-page special section featuring the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) achievements to mark the fifth anniversary of its development plan.

China unveiled the outline development plan for the GBA on February 18, 2019. Five years on, policies to strengthen the region's development have turned the GBA into a hub for scientific, technological, and industrial innovation and growth, and a lesson in high-quality development.

Distributed globally alongside the South China Morning Post, this special section provided comprehensive coverage in English of the achievements made in the past five years in terms of transport, economic, and social connectivity within the GBA.

Four major cooperation platforms - Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, Nansha District in Guangzhou, and the Shenzhen section of the Hetao Zone for Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation have been formed to explore more possibilities for the GBA's innovative development.

Moreover, the section presented the industrial focuses, business environments, cultural and tourism highlights, and plans of the 11 GBA cities, offering a comprehensive view of the new potential for the future development of the whole area.

Over the past half-decade, the GBA has set its sights on the forefront of global technology and industrial development, promoting new technologies, industries, formats, and models, including the intelligent manufacturing industry and the new energy industry.

On the same day, the section was also launched on the GDToday website, GDToday app, Nanfang Plus app, the Facebook accounts of GDToday, Hong Kong Today, and Bay Area Morning Tea, X account of Hi, GBA, and other social media platforms.
