New passenger terminal in Guangzhou completes construction to link Hong Kong

Recently, Guangzhou's Pazhou Passenger Terminal has completed the first phase of construction, according to Guangzhou Port Authority. In the future, it will provide a direct ferry service from Pazhou to Hong Kong International Airport, which will take about 120 minutes.

Located in Haizhu District and adjacent to Canton Fair Complex, Pazhou Passenger Terminal is a key water transportation project in the Greater Bay Area and it is planed to link downtown Guangzhou with Hong Kong and Macao, taking an annual capacity of 1.71 million passengers.

The terminal is being built in two phases. Currently, it has completed the first phase of construction with investment about 393 million yuan, covering an area of 6,500 square meters, and two high-speed passenger ships have been delivered for operation.

Now the authority is making progress in port declaration and other issues for official operation in future. It will bring one-stop check-in and customs clearance services for tourists to take flights at Hong Kong airport via the terminal.

The second phase of the terminal is scheduled to open shipping lines serving destinations including downtown Hong Kong, downtown Macao, and Macao International Airport.
