Starting from August 18, the check-in counters for some domestic flights at Terminal 2 of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport will be closed 40 minutes before take-off, 5 minutes later than previously.
This adjustment involved six airlines: China Southern Airlines, Chongqing Airlines, Hebei Airlines, Xiamen Air, Sichuan Airlines and Jiangxi Air. Airlines operating at Terminal 1 will not be affected for the time being.
At present, China Southern Airlines provide self-service boarding for domestic flights at Baiyun Airport. Passengers without registered luggage can check in online through China Southern Airlines mobile APP or mini-program. After arriving at the airport, passengers can just swipe their ID card to go through the security check and get on board.
The offline check-in counters of China Southern Airline at the airport are set at Areas C, E and F of Terminal 2. The self-service check-in machine and self-service baggage check-in machine are available in Areas H and G. And the special check-in counter is E22-23, which is only for the elderly, pregnant women, children, and first-time travelers.
In addition, an air-rail transfer service area was officially opened at Guangzhou South Railway Station on August 15. It is located at the passenger service counter at the west gate of the exit floor. The current service time is from 8:00 to 20:00.
It provides a wide range of services, such as domestic and international flight ticket price information, flight recommendation and ticket purchase, refunds and changes. Passengers heading to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport can take metro line 2 and then transfer to line 3, or book a car at the transfer service area.
