China’s longest international flight to be launched in Shenzhen

Starting from April 17, China Southern Airlines will open the Shenzhen-Mexico City-Tijuana (stopover)-Shenzhen route, the longest international flight in the country. 

The maiden flight is scheduled for April 17, and from April 22 to October 26, the route will operate every Monday and Thursday using either a Boeing 787-9 or A350 aircraft.

The great circle distance from Shenzhen to Mexico City is 14,147 kilometers, which will surpass that from Guangzhou to New York (12,878 kilometers). 

Upon its opening, this route will rank as the 7th longest air route globally, following that from Auckland (New Zealand) to Dubai (14,200 kilometers).
