Hengqin high-speed railway station is to be built in the downtown of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, according to the authority of the zone, and it will be only 2 kilometers away from the Hengqin Port.
Moreover, Macao Light Rapid Transit is also expected to be extended westward to connect the Hengqin high-speed railway station, allowing passengers to achieve one-stop transfer between Hengqin and Macao.
Hengqin high-speed railway station is the starting station of the Hezhou-Hengqin section of Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macao) high-speed railway, serving as an important junction for Beijing-Harbin High-speed Railway and Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway to connect Macao.
With a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macao) high-speed railway will run through Guangzhou North Railway Station, Guangzhou's Yuzhu and Nansha, Zhongshan, Zhuhai's Hezhou and end in Hengqin, connecting Macao Light Rapid Transit.
In the near future, comprehensive transportation planning will be carried out, including the planning of the high-speed railway station and the westward extension of Macao Light Rapid Transit.
