Baiyun Airport activates Level-IV emergency response to thunderstorms
As of 2:35 pm on April 30, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has adjusted to the Level-IV emergency response for widespread flight delays. So far, 56 passenger flights have been delayed for more than one hour.
As of 11:14 am, the Airport activated the Level-III emergency response due to the influence of thunderstorms. A total of 65 passenger flights were delayed for more than one hour.
China Southern Airlines also announced a Level-III emergency response for widespread flight delays in Guangzhou. It will last until 23:59 on April 30.
The Airport launched a Level-IV emergency response for widespread flight delays at 9:47 am as heavy rains are about to lash parts of the city.
A total of 878 flights are scheduled for today (April 30), including 453 outbound flights and 425 inbound flights.
The Airport reminds passengers to pay close attention to the weather forecast, flight information, and adjustments before departure.
