On September 26, Hengqin Port's one-stop joint services lanes for passengers and commercial vehicles opened for trial operations. It has opened a total of 15 lanes, including six from Hengqin to Macao and nine from Macao to Hengqin.
The customs clearance now takes about 2 minutes for vehicles to leave and enter the Chinese mainland at the checkpoint.
"I finished the customs clearance procedures very fast today. Previously, I had to take inspections twice at two sides of the checkpoint, but now I can go through it with one inspection," said Miss Pong, the first Macao driver experienced the new one-stop vehicle lanes.
Under the newly implemented joint immigration system, vehicles passing the new lanes will undergo a streamlined process of inspection conducted directly by authorities from both sides, including Hengqin Customs, Hengqin Frontier Inspection, Macao Customs, Macao Social Security Police and Macao health authorities.
