On May 30, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Gulf Air successfully landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, marking the opening of the first direct flight from Manama, the capital city of Bahrain, to Guangzhou. This also marks the second direct international route from this island country in West Asia to China.
This international flight will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner three times a week. The flight GF122 departs at 11 pm (local time) from Bahrain International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and arrives at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport the next day at 12 am (local time).
And the return flight GF123 departs at 5 pm (local time) from Guangzhou every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and arrives at Bahrain International Airport at 8:40 pm (local time).
Departing from Guangzhou, you will embark on a journey deep into the heart of history and culture in Manama. The historical blocks here are listed as World Heritage Sites by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
And what you can't miss is the site of Qal'at al-Bahrain, known as the Bahrain Fort. The fort is located on top of an artificial hill covering an area of 17.5 hectares. It is the site of the former capital of Dilmun and one of the most important archaeological sites in the Arabian Gulf.
Other scenic spots are also recommended, including Al Fateh Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, and Bahrain Bay, the center of the Persian Gulf.
