Guangzhou Baiyun Airport receives over 8.15 mln passengers in 2023

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport received more than 8.15 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2023, up nearly nine times year-on-year, according to a press conference held by Guangzhou Customs on January 9.

To provide efficient and convenient passenger customs clearance, Baiyun Airport offers 24-hour streamlined services in both Terminal 1 and 2.

Regarding air cargo, the airport also provides 24-hour customs clearance service every day for all kinds of fresh, urgent, and special goods.

Over the past year, the total import volume at the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone has exceeded 20 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of about 20 percent.

In addition, the customs authorities have also announced 15 specific measures to promote the high-quality development of the airport at the press conference.

For example, the airport will offer advance customs clearance for exported freight, continue to deepen cooperation under the "Single E-lock Scheme," and implement a "one-time declaration, one-time inspection, and one-time clearance" policy for cargo to and from Hong Kong and Macao.

As one of the three major international aviation hubs in China, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport handled more than 63 million passengers in 2023, ranking first among the domestic airports.
