Hong Kong vehicles to enter Guangdong via HZMB in July

Starting from July 1, Hong Kong residents can drive their own cars into Guangdong province via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, after their applications for the “Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles” scheme are approved by relevant authorities of Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.

This is expected to benefit about 450,000 Hong Kong vehicle owners by reducing the cost of applications and facilitating their cross-boundary travel.

The registration procedures will all be carried out online, car owners do not need to submit any paper materials at the customs window.

According to the authorities of Gongbei Customs, they have shortened customs procedures from 10 minutes to just around five minutes.

The first vehicle under the scheme of “Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles” completed its registration procedures at Gongbei Customs last Saturday.
