On August 14, China Electronics Corporation (CEC) held an inauguration ceremony in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin to launch three new companies. The newly established entities are the China Electronics AI Innovation Center (Guangdong Hengqin) Co., Ltd. (中电人工智能创新中心(广东横琴)有限公司), Hengqin Yuanlian Xintong Technology Co., Ltd. (横琴元链芯通科技有限公司), and Zhuhai Hengqin Beiling Semiconductor Co., Ltd (珠海市横琴贝岭半导体有限公司). These companies will focus on applications of Artificial intelligence scenarios, electronic component supply chain services, and semiconductor research and design, respectively.
The expansion marks a significant step in strengthening CEC's presence in Hengqin, integrating upstream and downstream sectors in AI and electronic information industries, and energizing scientific and technological innovation within the region.
Founded in May 1989, China Electronics Corporation is a state-owned enterprise specializing in cybersecurity and information industries. Other key areas of focus include computing, integrated circuits, network security, data applications, and advanced electronics. With total assets worth 433.6 billion RMB, CEC's business spans over 60 countries across six continents and has been included in the Fortune Global 500 for 14 consecutive years.
