As the Mid-Autumn Festival is drawing near, the average daily passenger flow is expected to hit 9.88 million on September 9, and 7.48 million from September 10 to 12, according to Guangzhou Metro.
To cope with the travel rush, on September 10, all Guangzhou Metro lines will operate for one more hour. While on September 12, Line 1, 2, 3 (the north extension included), 5, and 7 will extend services by one hour.

Due to the simultaneity of commuting and travel, many lines are expected to see an earlier and longer evening peak on September 9. Line 1, 2, 3 (the north extension included), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and Guangfo Line will see an earlier evening peak. Moreover, the express trains of Line 14 will be replaced with regular trains from 12 o'clock midday to 8:30 p.m.
During the 3-day break (from September 10 to 12), the metro capacity will be no less than that of regular weekends.
