Since the beginning of the summer travel rush, Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station has recorded over 800,000 passenger trips, which is a significant record for this major transportation hub. Officially opened on December 26, 2023, it has quickly become a new landmark in the city.

Travel tips to Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station

With a vast infrastructure featuring 11 platforms and 24 tracks spread across three above-ground storeys and four underground storeys, the station can accommodate more than 10,000 passengers at the same time.

Currently, the station operates 152 trains per day, with nearly 104 high-speed trains making up approximately 70% of its service. Passengers can conveniently access various destinations, including Shenzhen, Changsha, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Jinan, Hefei, Shantou, Zhangjiajie, Huaihua, Badong, Shangrao, and Zhangjiagang via the high-speed rail network.

To enhance the passenger experience, China Railway Guangzhou Group is continually optimizing train schedules based on passenger flow, adjusting capacity flexibly, and improving service management both on trains and at the station.

The design of Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station includes public squares on the north and south sides of the elevated waiting hall, which serve as walking spaces during regular days and can be transformed into temporary waiting areas during peak travel times, for example, the Spring Festival travel rush.

As one of the key passenger stations in the Guangzhou Railway Comprehensive Hub, which encompasses five main stations and four auxiliary ones, Baiyun Railway Station plays a vital role in facilitating operations for several major routes, such as the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Guangzhou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, and so on. Its operation enhances the efficiency and convenience of the railway transport system in Guangzhou.
