During the 40-day 2024 Spring Festival travel rush (Jan. 26 to Mar. 5), Guangzhou Metro transported a total of 300 million passengers, with an average daily passenger volume of 7.42 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%.

In addition, the total passenger volume of the four intercity lines was 1.14 million, including 117,500 for Foshan-Zhaoqing Intercity Railway, 621,500 for Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity Railway, and 403,400 for Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway and Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway.
The highest single-day passenger volume occurred on March 1, which was 9.77 million passengers.
Cumulative passenger volume rankings of a single metro line were Line 3 (including the north extension) with 59.19 million passengers, Line 2 with 39.34 million passengers, and Line 5 with 35.01 million.
The top three stations in terms of cumulative passenger volume are Tiyu Xilu (15.8 million passengers), Zhujiang New Town (10.94 million passengers), and Jiahewanggang (10.45 million passengers).
