On November 9, Guangdong reported 200 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, and 2,507 local asymptomatic infections. In addition, there were 300 local confirmed cases converted from previous asymptomatic cases.
Guangzhou reports 2,555 local COVID-19 infections
"On November 9, Guangzhou reported 2,555 local COVID-19 infections, of which 25 were detected during screening at the community level or among people who sought medical treatment, and the remaining were detected during quarantine or in high-risk areas. Among the new infections, 2,430 were asymptomatic and 125 were mild-type," Zhang Yi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, said at the press conference held on November 10.
Haizhu reported 2,369 local infections in a single day. The new infections still mainly concentrated in Kanglu area of Fengyang Subdistrict and Kecun area of Chigang Subdistrict. In Longtan area of Huazhou Subdistrict, cases are increasing.
The new infections in Liwan mainly concentrated in Zhanqian and Xicun subdistricts. Moreover, there were also sporadic cases in Longjin and Qiaozhong subdistricts with unclear sources of transmission, and there is still a high risk of transmission. Now, the epidemic in Liwan is still spreading and residents should be highly alert.
Panyu has reported new infections at the community level in recent days. Most of the cases were detected in Dashi and Luopu subdistricts. With a long transmission chain, it is still unclear about part of the transmission sources and there were some clusters at home and workplaces.
In Baiyun District, many clustered epidemics occurred at the early stage have been effectively contained.

On November 9, Shenzhen reported 2 asymptomatic infections during centralized quarantine.
Shantou reports 27+8 new local cases
On November 9, Shantou reported 27 new confirmed cases (26 mild types and 1 moderate type) and 8 asymptomatic infections, among which 31 cases were detected during centralized quarantine, while 4 during screening in high-risk areas. No cases were detected at the community level.
Maoming reports 32+19 new local cases
On November 9, Maoming's Maonan District reported 26 new confirmed cases and 10 asymptomatic infections.
Among the confirmed cases, 6 were detected during centralized quarantine, 6 during home quarantine, and 14 during screening in high-risk areas.
Among the asymptomatic infections, 2 were detected during centralized quarantine, 1 during home quarantine, and 7 during screening in high-risk areas.
On November 9, Maoming's Gaozhou detected 5 confirmed cases and 9 asymptomatic infections among people under COVID-19 control.
On November 9, Maoming's Xinyi detected 1 person with a positive test result during centralized quarantine and the case was diagnosed as mild type confirmed case.
Dongguan reports 1+17 new local cases
From 00:00 to 24:00 on November 9, Dongguan detected 1 confirmed case (in Dalang Town) and 17 asymptomatic infections (14 in Dalingshan Town, 1 in Xiegang Town, 1 in Dalang Town, and 1 in Wangjiang Subdistrict).
Meizhou reports 18 asymptomatic cases
On November 9, Meizhou's Meixian District added 18 asymptomatic cases, among which 8 were detected during home quarantine, 1 during centralized quarantine, and 9 during screening in high-risk areas.
Foshan reports 1+5 new local cases
On November 9, Foshan added 1 confirmed case and 5 local asymptomatic cases, among which 4 were detected among quarantined people and 2 after the individual receiving tests.
Zhongshan's Dongfeng Town detects 1 person with an abnormal test result
On November 10, Zhongshan's Dongfeng Town reported 1 person with an abnormal test result. Temporary traffic control will be implemented on all roads to and from Dongfeng Town for 3 days. During this period, in principle, residents can enter the town, but can not leave.
Qingyuan's Yangshan County adds 1 asymptomatic case
On November 9, Lifu Town, Yangshan County, Qingyuan reported 1 asymptomatic infection during the screening in the high-risk areas.
