In the first quarter of 2024, 319 projects have started in Guangzhou, with a total investment of over 320 billion yuan, focusing on industrial construction, infrastructure, social welfare, and urban renewal, according to the major projects commencement ceremony held in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) on February 20.

Among these projects are 158 industrial construction projects with a total investment of 196.9 billion yuan, 73 infrastructure projects with a total investment of 22.5 billion yuan, 50 social and livelihood projects with a total investment of 28.4 billion yuan, and 38 urban renewal projects with a total investment of 73.4 billion yuan.

During the event, Guangzhou Development District / Huangpu District announced the start of a total of 112 projects, with a total investment of about 83.9 billion yuan, and an estimated output value and business income of about 100.5 billion yuan.
As one of the major projects in the Guangzhou Development District, the Guangzhou Disruptive Technological Innovation Industrial Park Project also commenced on the same day. Located at Jingxia Village in CSGKC, the project covers an area of about 120,000 square meters, with a planned construction area of about 400,000 square meters, a total planned investment of 3 billion yuan, and an estimated annual output value of 1.78 billion yuan.

The project focuses on R&D, trial production, training, communication, and exhibition of disruptive technologies, aiming to provide support for scientific research and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Additionally, the Guangzhou Development District also issued ten supportive measures for the development of innovation. The subversive technological projects settled in the Guangzhou Development District will receive up to 5 million yuan in subsidies.
According to the Guangzhou Development District, disruptive technologies refer to technologies that have a disruptive impact on traditional industries. Disruptive technology is cutting-edge and advanced, and successful innovation through it is expected to drive the transformation and upgrading of industries.
