Primary and secondary schools will suspend students from returning to the school and offline teaching (except for those with accommodation and enclosed management). In Tangxia, kindergartens will be suspended, either.
On November 7, Guangdong reported 198 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases (114 in Guangzhou, 1 in Shenzhen, 25 in Shantou, 2 in Foshan, 44 in Maoming, 11 in Qingyuan, and 1 in Chaozhou), and 2,330 local asymptomatic infections (2,263 in Guangzhou, 30 in Shantou, 3 in Foshan, 4 in Meizhou, 4 in Dongguan, 1 in Jiangmen, 1 in Zhanjiang, 16 in Maoming, 5 in Qingyuan, and 3 in Jieyang).
In addition, there were 121 local confirmed cases converted from previous asymptomatic cases (118 in Guangzhou, 1 in Zhuhai, 1 in Maoming, and 1 in Qingyuan).
Guangzhou reports 2,377 new local infections

"On November 7, Guangzhou reported 2,377 local COVID-19 infections. Among the new cases, 17 were detected during screening at the community level or among people who sought medical treatment, and the rest were detected during centralized quarantine or in high-risk areas." Zhang Yi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, said at the conference.
Among the new infections, 2,263 were local asymptomatic infections, 113 were mild-type confirmed cases, and 1 was moderate type. Haizhu District reported 2,212 local infections in a single day, still mainly concentrated in Kanglu area of Fengyang Subdistrict. The recent sporadic positive cases involved key places such as higher vocational colleges outside the controlled areas.
Liwan's Xicun Subdistrict recently detected several cases with abnormal nucleic acid test results, and there is a tendency to spread.
In Baiyun District, cases were still detected in the controlled areas of Junhe Subdistrict and Jiahe Subdistrict, the risk of regional epidemic still exists, and Yuncheng Subdistrict and Helong Subdistrict reported sporadic cases with unknown origin of infection.
In the last two days, risk levels or restrictions have been downgraded in some controlled sites and areas of Haizhu's 11 subdistricts, including Chigang, Nanzhou and Jianghai, as well as Baiyun's 11 subdistricts, including Jiahe, Junhe and Huangshi.
Haizhu continues to strengthen control measures at the community level, and reduce the number of people going out by issuing access cards. The district dynamically adjusts risk levels of the controlled areas. "Since midnight of November 7, we have successively lifted the temporary control measures in some areas of 8 subdistricts, including Chigang, Xingang and Nanhuaxi, among which the Hongwei area of Jianghai Subdistrict had designated large controlled areas at the early stage," said Fu Xiaochu, executive deputy head of Haizhu District.
Zhang Zhoubin, spokesman of Guangzhou CDC, said that from the overall perspective, the epidemic situation requires the city to stick with the current prevention and control measures and contain the development of the epidemic as soon as possible.
"However, focusing on local areas, our prevention and control effect gradually shows. Some grids of Haizhu's11 subdistricts where there were many cases at the early stage, such as Chigang and Fengyang, have not reported new infections for 7 consecutive days, and the latest round of nucleic acid screening was also negative," Zhang Zhoubin added.
Zhang reminds residents that the risk of Haizhu Island is relatively high now. There are still some high and medium-risk areas around the areas where temporary control is removed.
In the last two days, positive cases were still detected during nucleic acid screening in the surrounding areas of medium-risk areas. It suggests that the transmission risk at the community level still exists around medium-risk areas and in non-risky areas.
At present, 40 Guangzhou Metro stations have halted external services, while the affected transfer stations retain the transfer function, and 2 stations (Jiangxia and Dashadong) have closed some entrances and exits. The whole line of Haizhu Tram is closed.

Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center announced that the fever clinic in Zhujiang New Town Hospital is suspended until 8:00 a.m. on November 9 due to epidemic prevention and control. Other medical services are provided as usual. 24-hour negative nucleic acid test results are needed to visit the hospital.
Shenzhen reports 1 new confirmed case
On November 7, Shenzhen detected 1 new confirmed case among key individuals under non-closed-loop management. The patient lives in Shajing Subdistrict, Bao'an District.
Shantou reports 25+30 new local cases
On November 7, Shantou reported 25 new confirmed cases (mild type) and 30 asymptomatic infections, among which 30 cases were detected during centralized quarantine, while 25 during screening in high-risk areas. No cases were detected at the community level.
Meizhou's Fengshun reports 4 new asymptomatic cases
On November 7, Meizhou's Fengshun County detected 4 new asymptomatic cases during centralized quarantine.
Dongguan reports 4 new asymptomatic cases
From 00:00 to 18:00 on November 7, Dongguan added 4 asymptomatic cases (3 in Dalingshan Town and 1 in Wanjiang Subdistrict), among which 2 cases were detected during closed-loop management, 1 after the individual sought medical attention, and 1 during screening at the community level.
Jiangmen's Heshan reports 1 new asymptomatic case
On November 7, Jiangmen's Heshan detected 1 positive case among close contacts of confirmed cases outside the city. The patient was confirmed as an asymptomatic case by municipal healthcare professionals.
Zhanjiang reports 1 new asymptomatic case
On November 7, Zhanjiang detected 1 local asymptomatic case during screening of close contacts under COVID-19 management. The patient lives in Changqi Town, Wuchuan.
Maoming's Maonan District reports 37+11 cases
On November 7, Maoming's Maonan District reported 37 new confirmed cases and 11 asymptomatic infections.
Among the confirmed cases, 18 were detected during centralized quarantine, 3 during home quarantine, 14 during screening in high-risk areas, 1 via a regional nucleic acid screening, and 1 after the individual sought medical attention.
Among the asymptomatic infections, 3 were detected during centralized quarantine, 1 during home quarantine, and 7 during screening in high-risk areas.
Chaozhou's Raoping reports 1 new confirmed case
On November 7, Chaozhou's Raoping County detected 1 new confirmed case (mild type) among quarantined people.
Jieyang's Puning reports 1 new asymptomatic case
From 00:00 to 12:00 on November 7, Jieyang's Puning added 1 asymptomatic case. The patient was detected among quarantined close contacts.
From 12:00 to 24:00 on the same day, 2 new asymptomatic infections were added in Puning and both were detected in the controlled areas.
