Tian Min, Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, said that the exchanges and cooperation between regions are key to the promotion of the strategic partnership between China and Brazil. Nansha District and Duque de Caxias have great potential for cooperation in the fields of culture and education, information technology, logistics and transportation, energy, and health care.

Lu Yixian, Party secretary of Nansha district, introduced that Nansha is at the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He said, "Nansha has the second largest container port area in China, and it has accumulated high-quality educational and medical resources. The Nansha Plan--China's recent plan to develop Nansha into a strategic platform for global cooperation--brings unprecedented opportunities to the district."

Lu stressed that Duque de Caxias and Nansha can take this opportunity to strengthen industrial, economic, and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.

Wilson Miguel Reis, Mayor of Duque de Caxias, addressed that Duque de Caxias is seeking regional partnership in the fields like trade, education, culture, and technology. "We hope to have closer ties with Nansha and make achievements," he said.
