On September 23, Lingdingyang Bridge successfully put the two main cable strands in the right place. With a total length of 3 kilometers, they span across the waters, linking the east and west main towers of the bridge.

Next, the cables will be tightened and clamped. And the slings will be installed along with other construction processes.

As a vital part of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, Lingdingyang Bridge is the world's largest-span (1,666 meters) steel box girder suspension bridge. Its main towers are 270 meters high, which is equivalent to the height of a 90-story building.

Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is expected to open to traffic in 2024. By then, it will take just about 20 minutes to travel from Zhongshan to Shenzhen.

In the near future, the Link will not only improve the transportation network but also promote the building of “one-hour living circle” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
