China divers Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani claimed the second gold medal of the Paris Olympic Games in the women's synchronized 3m springboard on July 27. This is also the first gold for the Chinese diving team in the Games.

This Paris Olympics marks the Olympic debut for Chen, who is from Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. Born in 1999, Chen began her diving career at Zhongshan Sports School and joined the Guangdong provincial diving team at the age of 11. In recent years, she has achieved remarkable success on the international stage. In March 2024, Chen Yiwen clinched the women's 3m springboard title at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Berlin, Germany, with a score of 356.40 points.

On the same day, world champion shooters Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao got China's Paris Olympics campaign off to a good start, winning the Games' first gold medal with victory in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
